Hello to one and all:
I sign my name Stephen Adams B.C. The B.C. stands for Behavioral Consultant. I have written
a book that will turn the psychological community upside down. It
correctly postulates that we have nothing to fear except our lack of
understanding of fear itself.
Get in here and make me prove the above statement to you. What have you got to lose?
If you tell people you went to a psychiatrist they might congratulate
you, but behind your back they will denigrate you and stay away from you
as much as they possibly can.
If you go to a psychologist or psychiatrist who practices by using Freudian principles his or her chances to help you are almost zero.
If they prescribe mind altering drugs, they might be good for the short-term, but in the long run, --- watch out for terrible side-effects. Of course those side-effects can happen with short-term use for some people also.
Whatever you do, never let anybody, psychiatrist or otherwise, practice electro-shock therapy on you or any of the so-called lesser evils of this type of pseudo help. Your brain is your most valuable possession. Don't let someone else fool around with it.
Read about Ernest Hemingway in my book for further details. It can be reached at the following link stephenadams1737.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-human-mind.html I can help you but you have to take the next step. Get in here and tell me what is bothering you.

LOOKING AT HOMOSEXUALITY AGAIN
Hello Everyone:
Homosexual
or lesbian or bisexual encounters are not always genetically
determined. More often then we care to admit, they are simply a
chosen form of sexual expression. I am glad that coming out ot the
closet will not result in violence against the closet leaving individual.
At least not as much as before.
At the
same time it is disconcerting to me to realize that young people are now
worrying about whether they are gay or straight far too often. Exactly how are
you supposed to know if your genetic make-up says you are gay or straight.
Here is a short article that appeared in a local paper some time ago. It quotes Ann Heche who was with Ellen Degeneres at one time.
"I was never attracted to a woman before Ellen. I have a right to
love who I want to love. I understand that many homosexuals believe
it's not a choice, but I made a choice out of joy.."
Some time later I learned that Anne Heche had a few physically abusive love affairs with men and was fed up with the whole idea of finding a decent man. She finally found a man that she is now living with and they have a baby of their own.

TACKLING OCD
Hello:
I have just finished reading David Adam's book called, --- The man who could not stop. He gave an account of his own problems with OCD.
It became obvious that fear was the root cause of this problem but the --- "almost impenetrable maze of defense mechanisms" --- makes the solution to these problems seem like more than I can handle at this time.
However, one thing seems perfectly clear. Those who suffer from this problem are not facing reality. They want a guarantee that their continued existence will be totally and completely safe. There is no such guarantee for any of us. Overcoming this delusion seems to be an important step on the way to recovery.
That sounds more sensible than the mumbo-jumbo that you will get from many of the methods that are currently in vogue for this problem by the psychological community at large.

WHERE TO FIND THE STORY ABOUT ERNEST HEMINGWAY
Hello:
In my previous post I suggested that you look at Ernest Hemingway's story in my book. My limitations when it comes to computer technology prevents me from being able to provide you with the exact page where Ernest Hemingway's story occurs. The closest I can direct you is to the topic, --- Neuroleptic Drugs. It occurs about one fifth of the way through the book. Good luck.

DORRANCE HAS BEEN SCRATCHED.
Dorrance is now out of the running to publish my book. They called themselves a Subsidy Press, furtively trying to avoid being called a Vanity Press which they are. Once again, --- C 'est la vie.

WINSTON CHURCHILL AND MODESTY
Hello Again:
When Winston was Prime Minister, a member of the previous government castigated Winston for being too arrogant and over-confident. He suggested that Winston would do well to copy his own style of modesty. The man went on for almost half and hour chastising Mr. Churchill.
Finally he sat down and Winston took the floor. His words were indeed laconic. "My worthy opponent from the other side is indeed a modest man, but then again, he has much to be modest about."

WINSTON CHURCHILL AND OVER-CONFIDENCE
Hello Everyone:
I am reading a book about OCD and the author makes the statement that the psychological community doesn't really know where the OCD comes from in older people who never showed signs of this disorder before.
It comes from the obvious fear of death that enters into everyone's mind as they grow older. If you react correctly to this fear, which I am trying to do, it will motivate you to do something valuable with the time that you have remaining here on earth.
Even though I fully intend to live until I am at least 100 years old, nevertheless that fear is changing me from the shy introvert that I used to be into the somewhat arrogant over-confident individual that I have become.
Keep in mind of course that what some people call over-confidence can be a healthy degree of confidence when all is known about the situation that is occurring.
It is altogether right and proper that I am having so much trouble getting anyone to believe what I have written. After all, who would suspect that someone who never even went to college would usurp the authority of those who did go to University to further their study of psychology.
I just finished watching a DVD about Winston Churchill. In his later years, he said that he had been given more honorary University degrees then passing grades that he achieved as a student. Here goes some more arrogance from me. I feel a kinship with Winston Churchill.
