THE PUBLISHING SWEEPSTAKES

Hello One and All:

In the race to see which Publisher will become the pre-eminent one here in North America and beyond, it appears as if Dorrance Publishing of Pittsburg has taken the early lead.   Especially if you go by the number of people who have contacted me from each of the 5 publishers that are in the running thus far.

First, I was in contact with Amanda Schutzman at Dorrance.  I presume that she must have had the ear of the President of that company because I quickly heard from Mr. David Zeoila also.  Subsequently he passed me off to a Mr. Bill Berger who in turn passed me off to Cortney Harms.

Just this morning, January 6, 2015, I received an email from Mr. David Zeoila informing me that my book has been accepted for publication by Dorrance in accordance with the conditions that I am willing to accept, if indeed I do accept them.

I have also heard from Andrea at the Toronto office of Wylie &     Sons Publishing.   Although I haven’t heard from Penquin – Random House yet, they can still bring in an author from the bull pen, Dr. D.J. Levitin, who wrote the book called, --- The Organized Mind,  to authenticate the ideas that I have put forward in my book if they so desire.

A similar opportunity is afforded to Oxford Press for their office in Toronto on Samson Mews.  Their author of interest would be Dr. Michael O’Shea who wrote the book called simply, --- The Brain.

The fifth  publisher in the running is Houghton, Mifflin, Harcourt in Montreal who are at a disadvantage at this time because I only contacted them a  day or two ago.

In any event, the stretch run still lies before us and the eventual winner has yet to be decided.   I could tell you that I am in no hurry to determine who the winner is but if I did so, I would not be telling you the truth.

As a result of my book, the world at large could find itself dealing with far less stress and tension in the form of anxiety and other issues that can be overcome by the proper approach to  the emotion of fear.  In closing let me say this:  “We have nothing to fear except our lack of understanding of fear itself.”

Yours in truth,

Stephen Adams  [Steve]
